Larimar is found only one place in the world, in one square kilometer around an inactive volcano on the island of Hispañola in The Dominican Republic. It is mined at the base of the volcano in the basalt formations. This rare gemstone was founded in 1975 by a member of the Peace Corps and named after his daughter Lari and “mar”—”sea”—for the beautiful blue color.

Larimar is known as the Caribbean Healer because it brings the tranquility of water, sea, and air to the heart and mind.
